Letting go of social media

I have used media for the last 12 years; from when I was a pesky teenager trying to understand who I was and my role in the world, to now, where I am trying to define how my next decade should look like.

I have consumed hours upon hours of content; from funny memes to deep philosophical threads.

I have connected with friends and strangers alike.

I have shared my thoughts, work, failures, triumphs and, most importantly, my life.

I have enjoyed the experience, but, just as they say - there’s always two sides to the same coin.

I have felt the anxiety to always be saying something, the pressure to keep up with the latest news, “who has said what”, and the endless scroll of content that never seems to end.

As the years have gone by, my priorities have dramatically shifted. I have found myself wanting to spend more time pursuing my VERY diversified interests, building meaningful relationships, and focusing on my mental well-being.

I’m choosing to do that this year.

Maybe, I will be back to “socialize” in the future. Maybe, I won’t. Who knows?

From now on, I will stick to this blog and my Github/Gitlab.
